This is how the leaning tower of Pisa was fixed so it does not fall over.

Maybe you didn't know, but the tower of Pisa was falling over more and more over the last few 100 years. It was pushed back after 1992. The tip moved about 500 mm for the tower to be in the a stable position where it was 100 or so years ago. The tower was falling while they build it and was never straight.
